This session will provide a focused look at how today’s healthcare environment is impacting nursing care for LGBTQ+ youth. Participants will learn how current factors influence patient care access and identify approaches that strengthen therapeutic relations, reduce barriers to care and enhance overall quality of practice with LGBTQ+ youth. Attendees will leave with greater confidence in navigating today’s practice environment and in delivering compassionate, patient centered care to LGBTQ+ young people and their families across diverse settings.

Outcome: 85% of participants will report increased knowledge on post-session evaluation. regarding patient-centered strategies to improve communication, build rapport, and enhance the clinical experience for LGBTQ+ young people and their families
