Recognizing and Responding to Mental and Behavioral Health Needs Across Pediatric Care Settings

This webinar will explore common mental and behavioral concerns in pediatric practice, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-injurious behavior, and behavioral escalation, as well as considerations for caring for children with autism spectrum disorder. Participants will learn practical strategies to recognize signs of distress, respond therapeutically, support patients and families, and manage behavioral emergencies. The webinar will share successful approaches from Children’s of Alabama, along with lessons learned and strategies adaptable across pediatric care settings.

Outcome: 85% of participants will learn at least one new strategy for recognizing signs of mental health distress, responding therapeutically, and supporting patients and their families
