Objectives

• Describe best practices to provide quality and safety when inserting and maintaining a peripheral IV in a pediatric patient.
• Discuss methods to support children and their caregivers before, during, and after a peripheral IV insertion.

Outcome: 85% of the participants will have a foundational knowledge of pediatric nursing care, as evidenced by passing the post-test for each module.

Continuing education: Society of Pediatric Nurses is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 16532.
