Pediatric Fellowship Course: Introduction

 The SPN Pediatric Fellowship Course is a multi-module, online course that is designed to help transition nurses from adult health nursing to the pediatric specialty through education focused on topics that are critical within our unique specialty. This online course is broken down into 19 modules, offering a total 10.00 NCPD contact hours.

• Pediatric Fellowship Workbook

Outcome: 85% of the participants will have a foundational knowledge of pediatric nursing care, as evidenced by passing the post-test for each module.

Continuing education: Society of Pediatric Nurses is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 16532.

Objectives

·         Understand the typical trajectory of nutrition of the child

·         Describe the changing needs of children and adolescents as they age

·         Identify and recognize atypical occurrences of nutrition
