Objectives:

  • Discuss the Epidemiology of pediatric trauma and why it is so important to public health in the United States.
  • Identify the anatomical differences in children and how they apply to pediatric trauma patients.
  • Apply the principles of pediatric assessment to the pediatric trauma patient.
  • Identify common mechanisms of injury and treatment of the most common childhood injuries.
  • Identifying pediatric non-accidental trauma and applying a multidisciplinary team approach to identify, treat, and prevent it.

Outcome: 85% of the participants will have a foundational knowledge of pediatric nursing care, as evidenced by passing the post-test for each module.

This online course is broken down into 19 modules, offering a total 10.00 NCPD contact hours.
